Digital poster with a purple background promoting an event titled "Harm, Prevention and Redress: Combatting Deepfake Abuse Impacting Black Women." The event is scheduled for 21 May 2025 and is hosted by BRK Ujima and Glitch. The design features an illustrated portrait of a Black woman with neon facial recognition lines overlaid on her face, symbolising deepfake technology. Circuit-style graphics run across the background. The event is part of "The King’s Festival of Artificial Intelligence" taking place from 20–24 May 2025.

We’re excited to be speaking at the King’s Institute for Artificial Intelligence as part of the King’s Festival of Artificial Intelligence (20–25 May).

Our Director of Research and Development, Dr Kũi Mackay will be in conversation with Gabriela de Oliveira, Head of Research and Campaigns at Glitch, sharing insights on AI, online gender-based violence and race.

Our session, “Harm, prevention and redress: Combatting deepfake abuse impacting Black women“, is grounded in a joint research project rooted in Black feminist thought. It highlights how AI and deepfakes are disproportionately harming Black women online and underscores the urgent need for an intersectional approach to addressing these harms.
